Dear Member/s
Facts about water at Belleview Farms
-
1) Since the inception "Belleview Farms" does not have any bore well of its own. The bore is located at the adjoining agriculture land belonging to
the erstwhile management. After the hostile take over of the management, the new committee passed the special resolution to reimburse the electric
bill of this adjoining bore well.
-
2) The cement pipe that is used for surface transport has fully corroded & needs total replacement, it is leaking from number of places right now
& is non-repairable. The structure & foundation pipe, the underground motors are decades old & get damaged every month, we operate them
for 6 to 7 hours every day. No repairer is interested to give any warranty on the repair job for this bore.
-
3) The water has to travel around 1.75 kms. at the surface, after being drained out from the well to reach the farthest member.
-
4) In other words for every rupee that member's contributes towards the electric bill, they receive worth of only 0.50 paise & that balance 0.50
paise is wasted in surface transport.
-
5) From 104 members only 32 members are connected to water supply, out of which 5 members does not even pay the Annual Maintenance Charges, some of 32 members
have even attached pumps to their water connection to extract more water , so that inspite of all the efforts, the farthest members will never get
their due share of water.
-
6) One member (A-17) does not pay Annual Maintenance Charges, has attached pump to the common water supply, fills his underground water tank &
over head water tank & has created an animal water feeder outside his compound i.e. a big masonry wall jointed from outside with his common
wall (created in the common road area) so that cows, buffalos, sheeps & goats can avail the water from our common water supply. This is done
after both his tanks are full- the novel way of philanthropy at the cost of the Association's money.
-
7) Some of these 32 members, make tremendous wastage of water. Inspite of personal request to save this scarce resource, we
have found that there is tremendous wastage of water by chokidars as well as members;
-
• by attaching a high capacity pump into the main line,
-
• feeding so many cattle,
-
• watering sand every day,
-
• to filling of fun play water tank every time,
All this is possible because, they are strategically near the base of the main pipe.
-
8) It is not sensible that such wastage by some of the indisciplined members are subsidized by other regular member. In fact most "B" sector members are not getting water, in other words, they subsidies the most of these 32
members.
-
9) One solution - The total new pipeline, bore well at strategic locations & over head tank together costs at least one lac per member excluding
running cost & above all, these expenses & investment will be a totally useless when AUDA will take over or Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam
Limited agrees to supply us Narmada Canal water.
-
10) The running cost of supplying water today is approx Rs.20,000/- per month. The foundation pipe, structural pipe, has all rusted out, the pump has
to be repaired five times in a year, without backing of any warranty.
-
11) The water meter are total failure wherever they are installed & it is impossible to show our non-paying members the "meter" & then collect
charges.
-
12) The Association has applied to Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited to supply Narmada Canal water to the Association & has permitted to install
water lines, parallel to our roads, for a fixed charge, on monthly basis, to be billed directly to the member by Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam
Limited. However this is not expected to be done soon, due to drought condition.
IN THE LIGHT OF ABOVE FACTS, THE MANAGING COMMITTEE HAS DECIDED TO DISCONTINUE THIS WATER MANAGEMENT FROM 30/09/2013 OR AT PUMP FAILURE,
WHICHEVER IS LATER.
This gives sufficient time to the members to find their alternative. Please note that this was a tough decision & the committee has met for a long
session, before it finally come with their UNANIMOUS decision. Our committee member Mr. Siddharthbhai Mankiwala has got
his bore well done at the total cost of Rs.1,25,000/- & has obtained good potable water.
For better & effective communication for water issue and also for all other suggestions/complaints, it has been decided that members from
Sector A
shall contact Mr. Upendrabhai Shah
Sector B
shall contact Mr. Siddharthlbhai Mankiwala &
Sector C
